Neolube 100 and its composition
NEOLUBE NO. 100 is a pipe thread sealant with a creamy white paste that is used for the locking and sealing of metal pipes and fittings. It is commonly used for sealing thread fittings in fossil fuel, solar, and hydropower plant piping systems. It imparts lubricity for assembly, provides low-pressure sealing, and cures to a solid for sealing and securing threaded pipe connections. Known for its remarkable solvent resistance, Neolube can withstand temperatures up to 300°F (149°C).
NEOLUBE No. 100 is not compatible with all substrates and users have to be cautious when using the product. It is not recommended for use on plastic or thermoplastic materials as stress cracking could occur. One should also avoid pure oxygen, oxygen-rich systems, chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials. Neolube comes with a safety data sheet that should be followed at all times.

- This pipe sealant contains no directly added Lead, Zinc, Mercury, Antimony, or Copper.
- The elements mentioned above are leachable or could be released by the breakdown of the sealant under expected environmental conditions.
NEOLUBE NO. 100 can be used on Iron, Magnesium, Bronze, Nickel, Zinc, Aluminum, Austenitic, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Monel, Cadmium, bright plating, anodized surfaces, passivated surfaces, and Titanium fittings. The reliability of copper piping should be determined before its use. It should be noted that elevated temperatures will cause treated copper to oxidize.
NEOLUBE NO. 100 will soften and affect certain thermoplastics including ABS, polycarbonate, vinyl, methacrylates, varnish, and lacquer finishes. The cured sealant will not affect any baked ceramic material but should be wiped off within an hour of contact.
Neolube stores optimally between 8°C to 21°C (46°F to 70°F). Storage below 8°C (46°F) or greater than 28°C (82°F) can adversely affect its properties. Material removed from containers may be contaminated during use and therefore it should not be returned to its original containers.
